The admiral stood casually outside his office, awaiting his new trainees. He was rather excited by the recruits coming in. Well, two of them. He was always very fond of the Sisiphean recruits he got to teach, and to have two of them in the same batch was quite the treat. So strong, so naturally skilled, so quick to learn, and so willing. But an Endsburghian, too... He wasn't too keen on training another of them. Generally weak and not too quick to change, he found little to relate with them on. He'd hoped very much that he'd picked the right gauntlet for the boy to wear. But he hoped very much he'd picked the right one for the other two, as well. He readied one of the gloves to be presented in his palm as he saw one of the three approach him.
"Good afternoon, and welcome aboard! Are you ready to learn the basic skills you'll need to survive in this line of work?" he cheered, holding the gauntlet in front of him to display and offer it to its new owner.

Taz ran to the training room hoping to beat the others. When he only saw Alkathen he smiled and slowed down, "The other two aren't here." he said to himself because he was happy to have beaten them there. He looked at his new superior or sooflai as the Sisiphee called men and women that deserved respect.
"Yes sooflai!" Taz replied to the admiral with excitement. "Is that cloth supposed to be for sweat? What will we be training?" he said while grabbing the glove and wiping drops of sweat from his forehead. The admiral didn't look very happy after he did that.

"Good afternoon, Arxontas. Well-met," she gave one of her rare smiles, albeit a weak one, and bowed her head in acknowledgment. This Alkathen man, her superior ... He did not seem quite as terrifying as he first did. She could tell he was excited about meeting the new recruits. About meeting her. But still ... He was a great bear of a man, and the one she would be serving under, so she was slightly intimidated. "I understand we are to begin our training? I am prepared for whatever may come."
She meant the words, though she knew she may come to regret them later.
She greeted Taz, who had been standing there holding a limp, sopping wet glove in his hand. She gestured to it. "What exactly IS that? How useful can it be without its match...? And what odd material that is. Quite ... Damp." She was seriously doubting the wits of this man. Who would bring a soggy gauntlet into battle? And only one, at that. Alkathen did not seem pleased with it either.

Alkathen snatched the glove back from Taz angrily. "This is no sweat rag, fool! This is the most important tool of any Doorman! The Gauntlet, the replacement for the sword of old. This is the most advanced weapon either of you will ever see." He shook the glove frequently as he spoke for emphasis, then tossed it at Taz. "Yes, that's right, today is your training day. Today I'll explain how the Doormen work, and also test and improve your combat skills. Here," he slapped another glove into Eha's hand. "This one's for you. Now, where is that Endsburgh boy?"
Lloyd had just entered the west wing when he noticed the group gathered outside the training course room. He approached them sulkily, not terribly excited to be once again surrounded by strange creatures attempting to socialize with him. Alkathen gave him a questioning look as he approached. "You're late, boy. Perhaps you had better things to do?" Lloyd was silent. "Well, no matter," Alkathen said with a sinister chuckle, "You'll make it up to me in training. Here's another for you." Lloyd slipped on the sleek black Gauntlet, which automatically formed to fit his hand. Clenching and unclenching, he sensed a deeper purpose to it than just to warm his hand.
"Now all of you know me, but in case you've forgotten, my name is Admiral Alkathen. I shall be your teacher today. First I shall cover with you all of the basics to being a Doorman, including our main objective and standard procedures. Then we'll move on to combat, and I will teach you some new techniques, then test you, and then rank you based on proficiency. Please follow me." Alkathen stepped forward and opened the door for his team, holding it in wait. Lloyd took the initiative and slipped in the door, out of the Admiral's sight, if for only a moment. It was much-needed relief for him.

Taz was happy that they'd finally start training and , now realizing that it was important, caught the glove that Alkathen tossed to him and put it on. As soon as it was on it formed to fit his hand perfectly, his excitement showing on his face. "Admiral, what is this material and why is there a stone right here?" Taz said as he gestured to the stone on the palm of the glove as he walked past the admiral and into the room.

Slipping the sleek black glove on, Eha's eyes widened as she felt a subtle pulse push its way from the palm of her hand throughout her body, like an adrenaline rush. She followed Taz through the door, staring at her hand in wonder as she flexed her fingers. It fit so well, like it was made for her hand specifically; a second skin. Tapping the stone set in the middle of the glove, she was certain that was the source of its inexplicable power.
She clenched her hand with a purpose and stood there feeling extremely powerful. She was definitely ready to begin her training with this gauntlet.
